It can be an ordinary tablet or open the case underneath and ... |
 |
Voila! ... it becomes a netbook with a reasonable keyboard |
It's a brilliant piece of
kit -- not an i-pad but there doesn't seem to be anything missing -- except maybe the price! From The Man early because he won't be here on the day ...
How thoughtful is that!
ReplyDeleteIndeed, Uncle Skip! Indeed!
DeleteI don't get i-pads anyway--they just look like a pain to me unless you want something electronic with which to show your pictures on. Much better is a real computer and this looks like one. Yea! What a sweet man!
ReplyDeleteThat's it! I have the benefits of both now. I've even decided to not take the laptop to France -- if I ever get there this year -- and thus save precious space and weight on the aircraft.
DeleteLucky you! I love new technology toys also. I think I'm going to bite the bullet and finally buy a smart phone.
ReplyDeleteI have had a smart phone for quite a few years -- but really hardly use all the convenient features. They do come in handy though for keeping up with e-mail and the GPS when trying to find my way around someplace new.
DeleteA super present and very thoughtful.
ReplyDeleteNow, there'll be no stopping you.... or no excuse!
Happy Day.
Yikes! I hadn't thought about the 'no excuse' issue!
DeleteG'day Broad. That is a wonderful gift. Enjoy using it. I hope you have a great day.Take care. Liz...
ReplyDeleteThanks, Liz! And G'day to you, too...
DeleteLove new toys! Enjoy! it looks great. Have a great day :-)
ReplyDeleteSo far, I am very impressed. Amazon reviews are a great resource...
DeleteIt looks wonderful...and I'm sure you'll enjoy using it. J.
ReplyDeleteSo far, so fun!
DeleteI looked at the link but am no further forward in understanding what it is.
ReplyDeleteSee my reply to Astrid below...
DeleteBut doesn't that then make it a laptop? I'm so confused with all these new gadgets...but what a nice man to present you with such an innovative gift. I'm still trying to convince myself that I really need a Kindle Fire...not working so far.
ReplyDeleteYes, it does make it a laptop! I knew I wanted the option of something smaller and lighter to take with me when travelling. I love my normal laptop, but it is a bit of a chore packing up and lugging it around. So I wanted something small and light and for a long time looked at the small 'netbooks'. The tablet is nice because it has a larger screen than the netbook and is more portable. However, if I am writing something say for my blog, I prefer a normal keyboard. Then I discovered there were keyboards for tablets and that they worked very well. So I now have both options.
DeleteWhat a great present. Do you have a birthday coming up? Happy day in that case. I've got one too, soon. I know you will enjoy your new toy.
ReplyDeleteYes, on the 15th of June. When is yours?
DeleteDear Broad, technology never ceases to amaze me. I'm so 20th century! And here you are for sure--in the 21st! Hope I catch up to you one of these days. Peace.
ReplyDeleteThe thing about new gadgets i -- they are very addictive -- and I'm a bit of an addict!
DeleteOh wow, Broad! That look like a very useful bit of kit indeed. I seriously considered buying something similar for my birthday but ended up getting my first laptop instead, but for the future...hmmm....:-)
ReplyDeleteI find it best to have both -- there are limitations. But at least I will not have to lug the bigger and heavier laptop on Ryan Air! Also with this particular model, I have discovered it is not 3g ready and I am hoping I will be able to use a dongle and be able to connect to the Internet at the house in France.
DeleteI like it! Have fun with the new toy : )
ReplyDeleteThanks Amy -- so far, so good!
