My Ducks Were All in a Row!

My mission to the US Embassy in London has been accomplished -- successfully! They will be making their utmost effort to see that I have it in time to travel on the 15th of July! Of course this being me there were some minor tribulations getting through security and being able to enter the sacred American space -- but in the end there was a happy ending! More about that anon. I am waiting for my son to help get me to Euston Station and my train back to Southport.

  1. Excellent news, although I await news of the minor tribulations with bated breath. J.

  2. Hooray! At last - you'll be so glad to get over to France and rejoing the Man (& he'll be mightily relieved to see you, I'm sure, partly for getting meals cooked!!) You must be looking forward to seeing the work he's been doing for real, rather than just photos - and to getting some warmer weather, hopefully. It's nice at the moment here in mid-Wales, but....
Have a good trip - prayers for a 'bubble of protection' for your travelling.

    1. He definitely definitely misses his 'cook'! But he has been very good about preparing his own meals and hasn't complained at all! Apparently he has developed a very good way of preparing mashed potatoes that has won him great praise when he had visitors! He has now finished the decorating work on the new bedroom -- a new clothes closet needs building still -- but otherwise it's ready for furniture again.

    1. No doubt about it -- 'relaxing' is the name of the game there! I'll be glad to get away from this so called British 'summer'. ;-)

  5. Another adventure! Enjoy your weeks in the sun.
It's boiling here in Ohio and I'd like some cooler weather.
At least we finally had rain last night along with major storms. No damage here, thankfully.
    Blessings.

    1. Trouble with stormy weather in the mid-west is there doesn't seem to be any middle ground. Glad you stayed safe and sound.

  8. Security is tight everywhere, even here in The States! Nevertheless, you are getting what you need, and that's important.

  14. Great news, Broad and I hope that when you do finally get to France you'll have more summer than we're managing to have here in Normandy. :-)

  15. I just spoke to The Man who reported that the Lot was pretty miserable today. A few days ago it was in the 30's and today it's 15. Temperature here is about the same.
