We went to friends for New Year...food, drink,music...and the national anthem on the box at midnight followed by fireworks all around...made me think of Messines Ridge!<br />In France we used to go to thrashes organised by friends who would hire the village hall...and they were fun too....marathon oyster opening sessions.<br />Best wishes for 2012.

G&#39;day Broad. Great post. I think my most memorable New Year&#39;s Eve was also saying goodbye to 1999 and seeing the year 2000 in. Hubby and I went down to the beach and saw the last sunset of 1999 dissapear over the horizon and then came home and watched the firework displays from some of the major cities in Australia, that were shown on the television.
